GULFPORT, Miss. (WLOX) - One in 26 people will develop epilepsy during their lifetime, with the search for a cure ongoing.
One South Mississippi group gathered to celebrate the life of Lance Michael Carter, who left a lasting impact on the Coast community.
“He was very loving, caring; you know, he’d do anything for you and he was just a person that always had a positive light on any kind of situation,” Carter’s older brother, Terence Scott, said.
‘Don’t kill my dream.’
That was Carter’s message that resonated through Earl Phillips Sr. Memorial Stadium as dozens gathered for the 10th annual ‘GOT PURP? Epilepsy Awareness Walk.’
Carter died from a seizure in 2014, three days before turning 29. His family has kept his name alive — sharing stories, memories and the lasting influence he had
