SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (KABC) -- A robbery suspect who was allegedly armed was shot and killed by San Bernardino police officers on Friday.
San Bernardino police were on patrol in the 300 block of Northpark Boulevard and were flagged down about a robbery in progress just after 6 p.m.
Investigators learned the suspect reportedly went into a store and pointed a loaded revolver at the clerk's head, demanding money from the register. As the clerk tried to disarm the suspect, he fired the weapon, nearly striking the clerk, police said.
Eventually, the clerk managed to disarm the suspect, but police say he then went to his vehicle and retrieved a loaded rifle. He was reportedly making his way back towards the front doors of the business when the officers were flagged down by the clerk.
