Syracuse, N.Y. — Syracuse tight end Dan Villari is no stranger to changes.
He started his college career as a quarterback at Michigan, transferred to Syracuse as a quarterback, moved to tight end, ran out of the Wildcat formation when the team was in need of a quarterback at the end of the 2023 season, went back to tight end and somehow still managed to finish his career dabbling in the QB position.
Syracuse’s quarterback position has been in flux ever since Steve Angeli went down with a season-ending Achilles injury in September. With the team riding a seven-game losing streak heading into Saturday’s matchup with ACC bottom-feeder Boston College, coach Fran Brown turned to Villari in the Wildcat formation during the Orange’s 34-12 loss at the JMA Wireless Dome.
