The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a killing in Harvey, it said Saturday night.

Deputies reported to the 4200 block of Lac St. Pierre Drive around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, JPSO said. They found a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound, and he was pronounced dead shortly after.

The man was left lying on the ground in a field. JPSO has not released the victim’s identity.

Officials are asking anyone with knowledge of the crime to call Crimestoppers or JPSO’s homicide section.
