Hundreds of motorcycles will roar through Gastonia on Sunday in the 39th annual Toys for Tots Motorcycle Ride.
The riders will gather at the Erwin Center at 913 N Pryor St., Gastonia at 1 p.m. Nov. 30 for coffee and donuts, and the ride will begin at 1:30, founder Gerald Tate said. Each motorcyclist brings a new, unwrapped toy.
Tate said that the need this year in Gaston County is significant, particularly because of the economic impacts of the government shutdown and tariffs.
"The need is greater … Parents are struggling … and we want to be there for them," Tate said.
The motorcyclists will ride an 18 to 22 mile route and end at the Eastridge Mall in Gastonia.
