A benefits claimant has questioned whether they will still be awarded help with childcare costs if they quit their job.

The parent explained how they claim Universal Credit (UC) from the Department for Work and Pensions ( DWP ) to 'top up' their wages.

But they fear they will be dismissed soon and have been considering quitting before they are let go.

The claimant said they work in the childcare sector so would struggle to get another job in the same field if they were sacked.

They claimed they have had 'no warnings' from their employer but have been put on a 'performance development plan'.
