FLORISSANT, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A Florissant family is grateful the worst didn’t happen after a car crashed into their home Thanksgiving night, plowing directly into their 14-year-old daughter’s bedroom while she slept.

The crash happened around 1 a.m. Friday near Charbonier Road, west of North Lindbergh Boulevard. Andrea and Wesley McDonald said the driver was intoxicated and shouldn’t have been behind the wheel.

“I can’t even really go in there right now,” Andrea McDonald said about her daughter’s bedroom. “It just makes you like relive the whole thing all over again.”

“Memories of a night that we wish would go away, to be honest,” said Wesley McDonald.
