Lando Norris could clinch his maiden Formula 1 world title this evening at the Qatar Grand Prix with a race to spare.
The championship table-topper now holds a 22-point lead over McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri and 25-point lead over reigning four-time champion Max Verstappen , having seen his advantage trimmed on Saturday when Piastri won the sprint race from pole position and then sealed top spot on the grid for the grand prix after a mistake from Norris saw him abort his final qualifying lap.
The Briton needs to outscore Piastri by four points and Verstappen by a point to seal a first championship in Lusail and prevent a thrilling three-way title fight from going down to the final race of an eventful 2025 campaign in Abu Dhabi on December 7.
