The names of two women who tragically lost their lives in a car crash in Pleasley have been released by the police. The accident, which involved a Vauxhall Meriva and a Suzuki Alto, happened on Common Lane in the village, near Mansfield on the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire border, at around 6.20am on Thursday (November 27).

Both the driver and passenger of the Suzuki were pronounced dead at the scene. Derbyshire Police has identified the driver as 26 year old Amie Pearson and the passenger as 29 year old Chelsea Carlisle.

The force said: "Their families are aware and our thoughts remain with them."

A nine year old boy, also in the Suzuki, suffered serious, life-changing injuries and is currently in hospital.
