Emergency crews are tackling a massive blaze that has razed at least one building and triggered a chemical tank explosion at an industrial complex in Sydney, Australia.

New South Wales Fire reported that the blast sent "fist-sized" chunks of concrete and debris raining down on emergency responders.

Dramatic images taken by NSW Ambulance personnel captured the moment the dark night sky transformed to brilliant orange as the fireball erupted over the western Sydney suburb of North St Mary's on Saturday (November 29).

More than 200 firefighters are combating the inferno, which erupted shortly before 11pm local time.

Emergency crews established multiple defensive positions to tackle the flames from every direction, reports the Daily Star .
