OXFORD, Miss. (WLBT) - Lane Kiffin has scheduled a team meeting at 9 a.m. on Sunday morning. An announcement regarding Kiffin’s future is expected shortly after the team meeting, according to ESPN’s Marty Smith.
The Kiffin sweepstakes has narrowed to Ole Miss and LSU, but Kiffin is expected to be named LSU’s next head coach soon. However, nothing had been signed as of late Saturday night, according to multiple reports.
If Kiffin decides to leave Ole Miss, the Rebels will likely enter the school’s first ever College Football Playoff run with an interim head coach. Ole Miss is expected to host a first-round Playoff game next month in Oxford after completing the first-ever 11-win regular season in school history.
This is a developing story.
