TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - The Ventana Wash Bridge on River Road is set to undergo maintenance, impacting traffic near Sabino Canyon Road for several weeks.

The Pima County Department of Transportation and contractor Southern Arizona Paving will start maintenance work on the Ventana Wash Bridge on River Road, ¼ mile west of Sabino Canyon Road. The work will begin on Dec. 1, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily, and will continue through January 16, 2026.

Flaggers will be present to guide drivers through the work zone, and travelers should expect possible delays and lane closures.

Officials advise residents to approach the area with caution, obey traffic control devices and expect extra travel time.

In case of mechanical issues or bad weather, the construction schedule may be adjusted.
