Broderick Jones has a neck injury that is more serious than originally thought and will miss the remainder of the 2025 season, sources have told the Post-Gazette.
The Steelers placed Jones, a first-round pick in 2023, on the reserve/injured list on Friday, meaning he would have missed at least the next four games.
Jones was injured in last week’s game in Chicago in what appeared to be a harmless play. Jones was blocking a Bears defender who had jumped in the air and came down on Jones’ neck area while the 6-foot-5, 317-pound left tackle was standing.
Jones left the game with what was called a “stinger” and never returned. Coach Mike Tomlin on Tuesday already ruled out Jones for Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills.
Andrus Peat is expected to replace Jones at left tackle.
