LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested four people in connection with a human smuggling operation after a chase involving a stolen truck.
Agents tried to stop a truck suspected of smuggling people when the driver refused, according to Border Patrol. Air operations units kept eyes on the vehicle during the chase.
When the truck stopped, three people jumped out and tried to run away, but were immediately apprehended. A human smuggling scout was also arrested for his part in the operation.
All four suspects are facing charges.
According to Border Patrol, the truck was stolen and was running on cloned license plates. The Texas Department of Public Safety took possession of the vehicle.
