LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - The Laredo City Council will hold its regular meeting Monday, Dec. 1, to address key issues affecting the city and its residents.
Council is set to discuss declaring the city’s commitment to protecting the Rio Grande riverfront as a critical public asset. The resolution directs city staff to prepare and create the Rio Grande riverfront parks and public access corridor.
The measure requires inventory and mapping of parkland, utilities, floodway areas and public access facilities. It also establishes interagency coordination and interim protections pending full implementation.
Council is also set to discuss the contract between Hendrickson Transportation Group (El Metro) and the City of Laredo.
