A team of students with the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga built and raced a concrete canoe in the "Athletes vs. Engineers" event last Sunday, November 16.
The work showcased the skills of the school's department of civil engineer and rowing team in a 500-meter race, according to a blog posted by UTC.
The concrete canoe team traditionally competes against other similarly designed boats from universities across the Southeast in events hosted by the American Society of Civil Engineers.
Chris Frishcoshy, UTC College of Engineering and Computer Science lab director, advises the concrete canoe project.
