Traffic Alert: Multiple lanes closed on U.S. Highway 301 due to brush fire, traffic crash

HAWTHORNE, Fla. (WCJB) - A brush fire and a traffic crash have caused multiple lane closures along NE U.S. Highway 301, officials from the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office say.

Deputies and Alachua County Fire Rescue crews are on scene of a brush fire in the 100 block of NE U.S. Highway 301, where one southbound lane is closed.

Officials say they also responded to a traffic crash that caused a serious injury at the intersection of County Road 1469. All northbound lanes are currently closed.

Deputies ask that drivers proceed with caution in the area and seek alternate routes where available.
