When Ayers Porter Sr. opened a single service bay in 1952, he could not have foreseen that a neighborhood tire shop would become a multi-location, multi-generational fixture across East Tennessee.

What began as a one-man commitment to “treating folks right” has grown into Porter’s Tire Stores — a family-owned chain that, seven decades later, boasts multiple full-service locations, a reputation for community ties, and recognition from the state legislature.
