Sunday morning, Auburn landed their new football coach as Alex Golesh was hired to take over, in hopes of turning around Auburn’s football program.
While Golesh is headed to Auburn, he leaves a South Florida program that he helped revive. And as he leaves, South Florida is grateful for what he’s done for their program. USF CEO of Athletics, Rob Higgins issued a statement supporting the Golesh move and also looking forward to the future of South Florida athletics.
“Let me be the first to say we are truly excited for Alex, Alexis & their kids! We love Coach Golesh and are beyond grateful for what he has done for our program,” Higgins said in a post on X. “Rest assured, we did everything within reason over the last few months to try and keep them here. We will be cheering them on always!”
