COLUMBUS, Ohio — Food insecurity continues to affect families across central Ohio and local food pantries say demand has surged in recent months.

It's a spike they attribute in part to the prolonged government shutdown and the pressures of the holiday season.

Now, a group of Columbus artists is stepping in, using their craft to raise awareness and inspire change.

On Saturday, Dec 6, during Gallery Hop in the Short North, they will debut “Oh SNAP! A Canvas 4 Change,” a live art event aimed at shining a light on food insecurity both locally and globally.
