NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A teen was arrested after allegedly hitting a female pedestrian on Brick Church Pike near Moorewood Drive on Saturday night, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.
Police said the 17-year-old driver said the woman was standing in the middle of the road on the double yellow lines as he was driving north when she reportedly walked in front of his vehicle.
The teen told investigators he tried to miss the woman, but was unable to avoid striking her, police said. He left the scene, went home, and told his parents, who then called dispatch, police said.
Police arrested the teen for leaving the scene of a crash resulting in death, not having a driver’s license, not having insurance, and failing to report the crash.
