BATON ROUGE — LSU will hire current Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin for the same position.

Kiffin posted a statement announcing the move on his social media.

On Sunday, Kiffin informed his team of his decision during a team meeting.

Kiffin will be introduced as the Tigers' head coach on Monday with the time to be announced.

Saturday afternoon, one day following the Rebels' 38-19 Egg Bowl win over Mississippi State, Kiffin and Ole Miss athletic director Keith Carter met to discuss his future with the program.

Following the nearly four-hour conversation, Ross Dellenger of Yahoo Sports tweeted that LSU would be sending two planes to Oxford on Sunday for Kiffin, his family, and others.
