Alabama assistant quarterbacks coach Mitch Dahlen is also headed to Oregon State.

Dahlen is expected to be hired as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach of the Beavers, sources with knowledge of the hire told AL.com on Sunday. The deal is not yet finalized, though.

He will work under JaMarcus Shephard, Alabama’s co-offensive coordinator and receivers coach who has been named Oregon State’s next coach .

Dahlen has worked with Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer all the way back to Fresno State. Dahlen then followed DeBoer to Washington and Alabama.

Over that time, Dahlen has helped coach Jake Haener at Fresno State, Michael Penix Jr. at Washington and Jalen Milroe and Ty Simpson at Alabama. Three have been NFL Draft picks selected in the top four rounds, and Simpson is projected to b
