Since Alex Golesh started the college coaching journey that led to becoming Auburn ’s head football coach on Sunday , he has worked with 21 NFL players as position coach, coordinator or head coach.

During that same period, Auburn has sent 97 players to the NFL.

Eleven of Golesh’s NFL players come from the Tennessee teams of the 2021 and 2022 seasons, when he served as the Volunteers’ offensive coordinator and tight-ends coach.

Those players include Darnell Wright, whose work at right offensive tackle for the Chicago Bears has helped anchor the team’s turnaround to a 9-3 record in the 2025 season.
