Cooking oil can't go down the drain
We've all heard by now that throwing cooking oil down the sink is definitely a bad thing to do. As well as contributing to the build up of what have been dubbed "fatbergs" in our sewer system , fats and oil could also have a detrimental effect on your own plumbing , which could be costly to get fixed. So what exactly are you meant to do with leftover cooking oil?
Of course, there is the option to throw it directly into the bin but as you might have experienced, this can result in dreaded leaky bin bags as well as unpleasant greasy smells.
There are a few more sensible ways to dispose of small and large amounts of oil that you can try.
