A mum hid incriminating evidence and lied to police after her former partner killed a relative in a knife fight on New Year’s Eve. Karla Pukutova, 32, attempted to conceal the knives used by her ex-boyfriend Hassan Suliman and her sister's partner, Alberto Ursu, in a bloody altercation that led to Mr Ursu's death.

The incident occurred outside Pukutova’s home on Essex Street, Rochdale, in the early hours of New Year’s Day this year following a boozy family party, the MEN reports.

Suliman, 31, was said to have walked outside and "attacked a random member of the public" - a man who had been walking past the house. A number of party-goers, including Mr Ursu, went outside to "try and calm things down".
