Lane Kiffin is on the move again.

The journeyman officially accepted the LSU head coaching job on Sunday after days of speculation regarding his future at Ole Miss.

Kiffin, 50, just wrapped up an 11-1 season with a likely berth in the College Football Playoff when the full field is revealed on Dec. 7 .

The days-long holdup over Kiffin's future was due to his desire to coach Ole Miss through the playoffs before leaving, a request he said was denied by athletic director Keith Carter. So, he and any staff members that will follow him to LSU will now abandon the team for the playoff run and defensive coordinator Pete Golding will take over as the permanent head coach .
