Cameras caught Shedeur Sanders’ classy gesture toward Malachi Corley after the latter’s costly mistake in the fourth quarter of the Cleveland Browns’ home game against the San Francisco 49ers.
After a Brock Purdy rushing touchdown in the third quarter, 49ers kicker Matt Gay booted the ball downfield to Malachi Corley for the kickoff. As the ball was going out of bounds, Corley just had to let the ball go, and Cleveland would get the ball at their own 40-yard line.
But Corley inexplicably decided to shift out of bounds to catch the ball, setting up the Browns up at their own five-yard line and costing them 35 yards of field position. But at the end of the clip, you can see Shedeur Sanders kindly signaling to a visibly dejected Corley to shake it off as he made his way on the field:
