FAYETTEVILLE -- The University of Arkansas announced the hiring of Memphis Coach Ryan Silverfield to fill its head football coaching vacancy early Sunday afternoon. The news came after multiple national outlets reported the search had pivoted to Silverfield, which the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette confirmed.
Silverfield, a 45-year-old native of Jacksonville, Fla., is set to be introduced at a news conference with Athletic Director Hunter Yurachek at 1 p.m. Thursday, followed by a public celebration at 5 p.m. at the Walker Indoor Pavilion.
