GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Amid what the Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR) predicted to be a record-breaking Thanksgiving travel period, a snowstorm that pummeled West Michigan this weekend is causing a spike in flight delays.
A system snowstorm dumped plenty of snow on West Michigan this Thanksgiving weekend.
The 13 Weather Impact Team had predicted that a widespread 6 to 10 inches of snow would fall Saturday into Sunday, with some pockets seeing even more.
The snow came towards the end of what GRR said would be peak travel dates this Thanksgiving, which began on Nov. 21 and is expected to wrap up on Dec. 3.
