Football fans are accustomed to mind-boggling mistakes by the NFL refs every week, but we have truly never seen anything like what transpired in the Pittsburgh Steelers-Buffalo Bills game on Sunday.
Jaylen Warren opened the scoring with a one-yard touchdown run midway through the second quarter. After the play, Steelers wide receiver D.K. Metcalf was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct, meaning it should have been a longer extra point try for kicker Chris Boswell.
But the NFL refs made the mistake of asking Bills head coach Sean McDermott if he wanted to a) enforce the 15-yard penalty on the extra point or b) on the ensuing Steelers’ kickoff.
