Woman in critical condition after being struck by two cars

A woman was in critical condition Sunday evening after she was hit by two cars while crossing the street in Hartford, police said.

Police said officers were dispatched just after 5:15 p.m. Sunday to the area of Wethersfield Avenue at Mannz Street after receiving a report of motor vehicle striking a pedestrian.

The officers located a female in the roadway suffering from significant injuries, police said.

The victim, a female in her fifties, was transported to an area hospital for treatment, police said.

While on scene, it was determined that the female was crossing the street, and she was struck by two vehicles.

The operator of the first vehicle returned to the scene and is cooperating with police; the second vehicle fled the scene, police
