BUNA, Texas — A Buna man was arrested Sunday after Jasper County deputies learned he had an outstanding warrant for sexual assault of a child, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies were sent to a home on County Road 910 for a verbal disturbance, according to a news release from sheriff’s office.
While investigating, they identified Zachary Johnson, 22, of Buna, and learned he had an active warrant out of the Red River County Sheriff’s Office for sexual assault of a child, a second-degree felony.
The warrant was confirmed and Johnson was taken into custody, according to the release. He was booked into the Jasper County Jail.
Sheriff Chuck Havard said he and his staff remain committed to combating criminal activity in Jasper County.
