In Sunday’s 25-3 loss to Jacksonville at Nissan Stadium, the Titans seemed determined to sabotage themselves with critical, undisciplined penalties.

Among the 10 penalties for 86 yards called against Tennessee were five personal fouls — a total that didn’t include a sixth (against Arden Key) that was declined by the Jaguars.

An unnecessary roughness call on team captain Jeffery Simmons following Jacksonville’s two-point conversion in the second quarter meant the Jaguars moved up 15 yards on the ensuing kickoff, meaning Tennessee wound up starting its next drive from the Titans’ 25-yard-line.
