1Douglasville, GA – A woman survived a shooting allegedly committed by her ex-boyfriend on November 2. Shamay Pitt, 23, met with Joshua Woodruff, 25, and their conversation turned violent when he allegedly opened fire.
Pitt shared her experience with local CBS affiliate WSB to warn others in dangerous relationships. She described realizing she was being shot as the gunfire rang out, stating, “My ears are ringing, but I come into realization that he is shooting at me.”
Woodruff allegedly continued to drive Pitt for hours after the shooting, while she bled in the passenger seat. She recalled, “I seen the inside of me on the outside” as she begged him to stop so she could receive help.
Eventually, he brought her to WellStar Douglas Hospital in Douglasville. Paramedics then transported her
