BOISE, Idaho — Behind a set of old double doors in the basement of Boise High School sits a room that has served many purposes over its lifetime – rifle range, book storage, yoga studio, weight room.
Now the space has a new identity as Idaho's first museum inside a high school.
"This is way too amazing of stuff to have just sitting in a private room," said Sandie Waters, the museum's creator and a teacher at Boise High School.
Waters, who has taught subjects ranging from English to social studies to community leadership, began collecting historical items when the school changed its mascot from "Braves" to "Brave." She said she wanted to preserve the school's history for the public.
