The Yuma Crossing National Heritage Area invites all volunteers to help plant more than 100 trees on Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Sunset View Wildlife Viewing Nature Park at the southeast corner of Yuma East Wetlands.
This event is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. and last until 10 a.m.
Volunteers are encouraged to park on the east side of the Pacific Avenue Athletic Complex, 1700 E. 8th St., and walk across the levee road to access the park area.
After the park’s unveiling in 2024, volunteers helped plant an initial round of trees, and this year’s planting will continue YCNHA’s effort to add vegetation and reduce temperatures for the many animal species that reside within the East Wetlands.
