BBC shows have been taken off air after firefighters were called to the broadcaster's Glasgow office following reports of a fire this morning. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service mobilised a 'number' of appliances to the scene at around 7am on Monday, December 1.
We previously told how staff were forced to evacuate at around 6.30am after the fire alarm was triggered. Fire crews say that the blaze was caused by an air conditioning unit on the fifth floor. It is understood that it has since been extinguished.
Three appliances remain on scene. There are no casualties.
BBC Radio Scotland Breakfast was taken off air. It is understood that the station switched to pre-recorded music and breakfast television bulletins were suspended.
