You can be a Times Old Newsie even if you didn't have a paper route back when.

The nonprofit organization was created by former Erie newsboys 86 years ago, but membership requirements have changed.

And new members are welcome.

If you are at least 25 years old and want to make a difference in your community, you can join the Times Old Newsies.

"Years and years ago, you had to be a former paper boy or paper girl to join, and to be age 35," said Dan Kalie, president of the Times Old Newsies. "That's all changed. And we're always looking for new members."
