Many of us eat our weight in chocolate at Christmas. From advent calendars to gift boxes, there's always something to indulge those cravings. ‌

However, Aldi shoppers have been issued with a "do not eat" warning after it was discovered that one of the budget supermarket's festive treats could possibly cause an allergic reaction in some consumers. ‌

The German grocer has issued a major recall for its Dairyfine Salted Caramel Filled Gonks as they contain peanuts, an ingredient not declared on the packaging, meaning it poses a " health risk" for those with an allergy to peanuts. ‌

An allergy alert posted to the Food Standards Agency (FSA) has advised that the recall affects all dates of the 90g bags with the batch code 4061463276865.
