Three DWP schemes could see some up to £875 better off this winter View Image
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has highlighted three financial support schemes that could provide pensioners with up to £875. The department said on X, formerly Twitter : "As the weather gets colder, you could get help with your bills".
The post further details that there are "three benefits you could qualify for". The first of these is the Winter Fuel Payment, a tax-free sum of £100-300, automatically given to those born on or before 22 September 1959. This cash is intended to help with heating costs.
There's also the Warm Home Discount. This provides a £150 reduction on your electricity bill, with the amount deducted by your energy supplier rather than being paid directly to you. Content c
