FISHERS, Ind. — Fishers Police Department officials are investigating after a 30-year-old man was shot and killed inside of a Fishers bar early Monday morning.

Around 2:45 a.m. Dec. 1, Fishers police responded to a report of a shooting inside of Britton Tavern , near State Road 37 and East 141st Street.

When officers arrived at the tavern, they found a 30-year-old man inside who had been shot. Medics attempted life-saving measure but were unsuccessful, and the victim was pronounced dead, according to FPD Sgt. Angela Ellison.

Just after 3 p.m. on Dec. 1, the Hamilton County Coroner identified the man who was killed as Justin Burton of Noblesville.

"This is very rare for this area. This establishment has been here for many, many years," Ellison said.
