'One of the most influential figures in pop history' is set to bring a hit-filled party show to Scarborough Open Air Theatre next year.

Nile Rodgers will join his band CHIC for a concert on the Yorkshire coast on Saturday, August 22, 2026.

As co-founder of CHIC, he was a key part of the hip-hop revolution with hits like "Le Freak" and "Good Times."

He was also behind The CHIC Organisation's classics such as Sister Sledge's "We Are Family" and Diana Ross's "I'm Coming Out."

Julian Murray, of Scarborough OAT promoters Cuffe and Taylor, said: "Nile Rodgers & CHIC always present the best party.

"These shows are filled with hit after hit and are sure to create a brilliant atmosphere.
