DEDHAM, Mass. (WLNE) — The murder trial of Brian Walshe is set to begin Monday with opening statements by the prosecution and defense.

Walshe is accused of murdering his wife Ana Walshe on or around New Year’s Day in 2023 in their Cohasset home.

Police and prosecutors say that Walshe then dismembered and disposed of her body, which has not been recovered.

Prosecutors believe that Walshe thought his wife was having an affair.

Walshe stunned the courtroom in November when he pleaded guilty to two of three charges ; unlawful disposal of a body and misleading the police.

He did not plead guilty to first-degree murder in the trial, which is expected to last up to a month.
