Cyclone Ditwah, Other Flooding Leave Hundreds Dead In Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Malaysia And Thailand

Hundreds remain missing as the death toll soared to more than 1,000 in a handful of Asian countries following the catastrophic flooding triggered by Cyclone Ditwah and flooding from other previous storm systems.

The death toll included more than 600 people in Indonesia, 366 in Sri Lanka and 176 in Thailand, according to authorities. In Indonesia, help was set to begin arriving in the hardest-hit areas, the country's president said.
