HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- At least four people were injured following a crash involving a Houston Police Department cruiser late Sunday evening, according to officials.

HPD said the crash happened before midnight near the Chenevert and Tuam.

Officials said the two officers in the cruiser were traveling north when a silver car, heading west, ran a stop sign and hit the officers.

HPD said there were two men inside the silver car when they hit the police SUV.

All four were taken to the hospital, but all were conscious and expected to be OK, police said.

According to police, the two men admitted to officers on the scene that they'd been drinking.
