AKRON, Ohio — A 44-year-old woman, identified as Rebecca Lee Guthrie of Akron , has died following a weekend stabbing and shooting that also left a 25-year-old man hurt.

It was around 2:10 a.m. Saturday when first responders arrived at the scene on Miles Avenue in Akron and found the victim on the living room floor with multiple stab wounds and a gunshot wound, according to the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office.

"Upon arrival, officers were met by an 18-year-old male, who stated that both his mother and older brother had been shot," according to Akron police.

Guthrie was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:31 a.m.
