NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio -- City Council is expected to approve the $106,000 general fund expenditure to update the police department’s fire alarm and suppression system.
North Olmsted Police Chief Bob Wagner said the existing fire system is original to the 1973 building.
“The building has been added onto multiple times, with the most recent being in 2019 when we put the additional office spaces on the back,” he said.
“So we’re looking to upgrade the fire alarm system with that to coincide with our new dispatch remodel. We are a 24/7 occupied building, so we’re required to have the appropriate fire suppression system.”
If approved, the systems will be purchased via state contract terms through S.A. Comunale, which will also handle the installation.
