A man has been arrested after a police chase through the city centre this morning. At around 2am on Monday December 1, Merseyside Police received a report about man, who was suspected of being under the influence, getting into a vehicle in the Wood Street area.
Following a brief pursuit , the vehicle crashed into a lamppost and wall in Argyle Street, off Paradise Street. The driver and passenger were both detained. A 21-year-old man from Halewood was arrested on suspicion of drink driving, fail to stop, dangerous driving and driving without a licence.
