Hamilton Accies have confirmed a new interim management team in the wake of John Rankin's resignation.

Rankin quit the crisis-hit Lanarkshire side on Saturday following their 4-0 thumping at the hands of Airdrie in the Scottish Cup . It came after controversial owner Serif Zengin failed to pay players and staff on time, with the now ex-manager saying he could no longer lead the team under those circumstances.

The Herald revealed the League One club are desperately trying to stave off administration with the only remaining director, Gerry Strain, attempting to put together a package to do so.

In the meantime, coach and former player Darian McKinnon has been asked to take the team on a temporary basis, with Scott Leitch brought in to assist him.
